GRATITUDE, IT'S THE NEW ATTITUDE
Gratitude is a universally transformation. When we appreciate where we are, it allows more space for great things to come, as we open our awareness to the miracles that are already around us. Gratitude often comes from a deep place of presence and acceptance for what is.
November is the month of Gratitude. Thanksgiving is an annual holiday in The United States and Canada, being grateful for the harvest and other blessings throughout the year. But, it is my belief that EVERYDAY is a day to celebrate gratefulness. Each day that we have air to breath, we have the chance to make any changes in our lives that we wish to change as we strive to be better human beings. That alone is enough to be grateful for. I wake up in the morning thanking the Universe for another day, but it does not stop there. I get dressed and make my way over to the coffee shop across the street and am I ever so grateful for that $3.75 "addiction" that is so accessible to me. It is after I take a few sips of the fabulous concoction that I refer to as coffee, I begin to notice my surroundings such as the trees, birds singing and the luxury of living just across the street from a coffee shop that I can afford . The list of such simple things keeps going on throughout the day until I am in my king size cozy bed at night watching t.v. like a spoiled brat. Then it really hits me, how blessed I am to have somewhere I can rest and be comfortable, a blessing that many do not have.
Of course, there is crazy drama all around me. I come to understand that I spent most of my life wrapped up in drama or creating it. My mother wore the crown as the "queen of drama", yes chaos was something I grew up with and was conditioned to. Just like my mother, and so many others around me, I was miserable and very unhappy with life, which left me very resentful. However, the Universe did not give up on me. The blessings were slapping me in the face everyday, but I was so blinded with such a toxic attitude, I was not able to see the blessings and understand gratitude. It finally happened one day in 2022, I got covid, which put me in the hospital four times and almost left me for dead. How can one be resentful when the Universe puts so many beautiful people around them to help them recover from such a bad experience?
I slowly begin to understand the peace of mind in gratitude, in spite of the crazy going on all around me. The weird part is, that the more grateful I become over even the most simplest of things to the most craziest situations, the more blessings I receive. It is as if I give one little vibration of gratitude for something which appears so simple as a cup of coffee, I get hit with a multitude of blessings. As a result, the freedom and peace that an attitude of gratitude brings is immeasurable.
So I ask, how is YOUR attitude? Is it full of gratitude? Or, are you living life with all the chaos just trying to get through the day? Pink is associated with love and compassion. It can alter the mood and help reduce aggression. It is the color symbol of gratitude, as it enhances a sense of positivity and happiness.
